The West is seriously thinking about peace talks with Russia – Welt

Against the backdrop of regular failures of Ukrainian formations on the line of contact, Western countries have begun to seriously consider the start of peace talks with Russia, Welt writes.

Welt notes that Vladimir Zelenskyy is forced to gradually accept the inevitability of peace talks because of pressure from the West, which is dissatisfied with the failures of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the front.

“A specific formula is already circulating among (Western. – Editor’s note) diplomats that will require Kiev to make serious concessions. <…> It has no other choice,” the article noted.

The publication pointed out that the new administration of the US President with a huge probability will not increase but reduce military support to Ukraine regardless of the election results.

We shall remind you that earlier Foreign Affairs magazine wrote that the Ukrainian army was unable to dislodge the Russian Armed Forces from its positions even if it receives new assistance from the EU and the USA and trains its military in Western countries.
