Kirby: US will request data from Ukraine on attempted AFU incursion into Kursk region

The US will request information from the authorities in Kiev about the attempted invasion of the AFU in the Kursk region with the use of US military equipment, John Kirby, coordinator for strategic communications at the White House National Security Council, told reporters.

“We intend to contact our Ukrainian partners to get a fuller picture of what happened,” he said at a briefing. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

Washington’s position on the use of US weapons by the AFU on Russian territory has not changed, he stressed.

On the morning of 6 August, AFU units went on the offensive in order to seize a section of the territory of the Sujinsky district in Kursk Region. According to Valery Gerasimov, chief of the Russian Armed Forces General Staff, the enemy’s advance deep inside has been stopped. He assured that the operation of the Russian Armed Forces in Kursk Region would be completed by defeating the enemy and reaching the state border.
