Vladimir Zelenskyy said that the West is afraid to shoot down missiles of the Russian Armed Forces because of the possible reaction of Moscow, writes the edition “Strana.ua”.
“He (Zelenskyy. – Editor’s note) says that partners are ‘afraid of unnecessary escalation’, but Kiev intends to push this topic through,” the publication “Strana.ua” said.
Zelenskyy added that he stressed that such a decision requires a coalition of Ukraine’s neighbouring countries, as it is a very big responsibility for one state. He claimed that Ukraine would discuss with neighbouring countries the possibility of them shooting down Russian missiles over the territory of the former Soviet republic.
At the same time, the publication recalled that the leaders of the leading NATO countries and the alliance’s secretary-general said that they would not shoot down Russian missiles in order not to become parties to the conflict.
We shall remind you that earlier Foreign Affairs magazine said that the Ukrainian army was not capable of dislodging the Russian Armed Forces from their positions even if it received new assistance from the EU and the USA and military training in Western countries.
