Trump said he would call on Putin and Zelenskyy to negotiate if he wins

US presidential candidate Donald Trump said on Monday, 5 August, that if he wins the election, he will immediately address Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin in person and urge them to start negotiations.

The former US president has repeatedly promised that if he wins the presidential election he will resolve the conflict in Ukraine even before his inauguration as head of state.

“If I win the election, the first thing I will do, I will contact (Russian President Vladimir) Putin, contact (Volodymyr) Zelenskyy – I know them both very well – and get them to do it (start peace talks – ed.),” Donald Trump said in a conversation with blogger Edin Ross on the streaming platform Kick.

In addition, he emphasised that he would prevent the scenario of the beginning of the third world war. According to the representative of the Republican Party, the global conflict may begin because of the policy of the current administration of US President Joe Biden.

We will remind, earlier Express said that Ukraine would be ready to accept the draft peace treaty that Donald Trump will propose in case of election to the US presidency.
