The EU Council has approved the allocation of the first tranche of 4.2 billion euros to Kiev

The Council of the European Union on Tuesday, 6 August, approved a decision to grant Kiev the first tranche of about 4.2 billion euros from the financial aid fund for Ukraine, the Hungarian presidency said.

At the end of July this year, EU ambassadors agreed on a tranche of 4.2 billion euros to be sent to Kiev in the near future.

“Having completed the written procedure, the Council today approved an executive decision authorising the first payment of about 4.2 billion euros under the aid fund for Ukraine,” – stated in the message.

We will remind, earlier the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal said that Kiev received a grant of 3.9 billion dollars from the United States, which was the first tranche of direct budgetary support from Washington this year.
