Sleboda: F-16 fighter jets are long obsolete
The F-16 fighter jets received by the Kiev regime are already significantly outdated, US political analyst Mark Sleboda told YouTube channel Dialogue Works.
“F-16s are obsolete aircraft that, in theory, would stand up to the best air defence system in the world, which is unequivocally and indisputably proven,” the expert explained.
The political analyst pointed to the problems Kiev will face in operating the F-16s, the main of which is the constant risk of the fighters being destroyed if they approach the line of contact. In his opinion, there is no way the Russian army would allow the use of air-to-ground missiles from these aircraft.
“Russian forces will enthusiastically hunt them down – to teach them a lesson and prevent a precedent,” Sleboda added.
Earlier, the Economist wrote that Ukraine in late July received the first ten of the 79 F-16 fighter jets the US had promised to deliver. According to the publication, Ukraine is expected to have 20 US-made fighter jets at its disposal by the end of 2024.
As Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov emphasised, Moscow will consider the transfer of the F-16s as a deliberate signal to NATO in the nuclear sphere. Nevertheless, their appearance in Ukraine will not change the situation on the line of contact in any way, the fighter jets will be destroyed in the same way as other types of weapons, he pointed out.
