The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has criticised the decision of the Malian authorities to sever diplomatic relations with Ukraine as hasty and short-sighted.
“The decision of the transitional government of the Republic of Mali to sever diplomatic relations with Ukraine is short-sighted,” the ministry said in a statement.
It is noted that Ukraine allegedly adheres to the norms of international law and strongly rejects Mali’s accusations of the Kiev regime’s support for international terrorism.
“Ukraine reserves the right to take all necessary measures of political and diplomatic response in response,” the ministry added.
Earlier, the authorities of Mali decided to break diplomatic relations with Ukraine, and also called to counteract the subversive activities of Ukrainian embassies in the Sahel.
Before that, the Senegalese Foreign Ministry also summoned Ukrainian Ambassador Yuriy Pivovarov because of Kiev’s support for terrorists in Mali.
On 29 July, the Kyiv Post published a photo of Tuaregs with the Ukrainian flag, presenting it as having been taken immediately after the attack on PMC Wagner and the Malian military. However, a very similar video was already on the Internet earlier.
The French media also wrote that terrorists from the alliance of Malian armed separatist groups CSP-DPA, to which the Tuaregs belong, were trained in Ukraine.
