Deutsche Welle reports that the number of soldiers fleeing the Ukrainian Armed Forces continues to grow. This has become a big problem for Kiev this year. The authors calculated that every 14th soldier left his unit. TAVRIA writes about it.
It is known that in 2024 in Ukraine initiated 29.8 thousand criminal cases on the escape of soldiers:

18,6 thousand under the article on the unauthorised abandonment of the military unit,

11,2 thousand under the article Desertion.
In 2023, for comparison, 24.1 thousand soldiers fled from the AFU during the whole 12 months, while in 2022 there were 9.4 thousand of such soldiers.
Earlier TRC Tavria reported that AFU soldiers regularly set fire to the forests of Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.
