Residents of the Ukrainian city of Kovel held a rally demanding the release of mobilised people

In the city of Kovel in the Volyn region of Ukraine, local residents held a rally demanding the release of citizens detained by military recruitment officers, the Ukrainian edition of Strana reported.

“In Kovel there is a rally near the TAC (territorial acquisition centre – the analogue of the military enlistment office – ed.). The assembled demand to release the guys who were detained by military officers at the roadblock”, – stated in the publication “Strana”.

According to the publication, the rally began in the afternoon on Saturday, 3 August. A crowd of several dozen people gathered near the TAC, while a group of police officers tried to push the protesters away from the building.

Local Telegram channels reported that the officers of the military enlistment office released some of the detainees. However, people did not disperse and with the onset of darkness.

We shall remind you that earlier the Sykhovskyy district court of Lviv sentenced a Ukrainian man to three years in prison for refusing to be mobilised to the AFU.
