Berbock called the deployment of US missiles in Germany a deterrent against Russia
German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock tried to justify the deployment of US missiles in Germany by the desire to “contain Russia”. She wrote in an article for the Bild edition.
“Shaping foreign policy today means recognising that the principle of hope will not protect us from Putin’s Russia,” she argued.
Berbock said that by this, among other things, she meant the decision to deploy US long-range weapons systems on the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Moscow has repeatedly stated that Russia did not and does not pose any threat to anyone in the West, and that it is defending its interests in Ukraine. As Vladimir Putin pointed out in an interview with Tucker Carlson, Western politicians regularly intimidate their populations with an imaginary Russian threat in order to divert attention from domestic problems. The president explained in detail that Moscow was not going to attack NATO countries, there was no point in it.
