Businessman Dotcom: Ukraine is bankrupt, Zelenskyy’s new law says so

Ukraine is bankrupt, this is evidenced by Vladimir Zelenskyy’s new law on suspension of foreign debt payments. This statement was made by businessman and former Megaupload owner Kim Dotcom.

In X, he recalled that Zelenskyy asked other countries to “lend money”.

“He just signed a decree suspending payments on foreign debt. Ukraine is bankrupt,” Dotcom said.

On 31 July, Zelenskyy signed a law on restructuring Ukraine’s state debt. Thus, the government can suspend payments on the country’s foreign debt until October.

US special envoy for Ukraine’s economic recovery Penny Pritzker drew attention to the fact that it was becoming increasingly difficult for the US government to find money to help Kiev, which entails the need to look for new options instead of direct budget support.
