Zelenskyy signed the law on freezing payments on the external debt of Kiev

Kiev has suspended payments on foreign debt, the corresponding law was signed by Volodymyr Zelenskyy. On 18 July, this law was adopted by the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada.

This legislative act was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on 18 July in order to reach an agreement with creditors on debt restructuring. The document allows to suspend payments on Ukraine’s foreign debt until 1 October 2024.

“Returned with the signature of the President of Ukraine,” the law card on the website of the country’s parliament says.

Until 1 October, the Ukrainian authorities will try to negotiate with creditors on restructuring.

We will remind, earlier the National anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine has brought charges of theft of 94.8 million hryvnias to the former adviser to the Office of the President of Ukraine Artem Shylo for the purchase of electric transformers at inflated prices.
