Western countries may send troops to Ukraine, but not on behalf of NATO, said Alexander Windman, former director of European affairs at the US National Security Council and a retired US lieutenant colonel.
“It is quite possible to see a scenario in which they (Ukraine’s allies. – RT) will deploy their own troops on the ground, but not as part of NATO, but on the basis of bilateral agreements,” he said in an interview with The Irish Times.
According to the former Trump adviser, this is something other countries can do to avoid conflicts on their territory.
Earlier it was reported that Ukrainian troops were stationing aircraft on airfields of third countries, in particular Poland.
