World Health Organisation (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has said that thousands of unvaccinated children in the Gaza Strip are at risk of polio.
“No cases of polio have been detected yet, but in the absence of immediate measures, the infection will catch up with thousands of still unvaccinated children,” the head of the organisation said.
Earlier, experts of the UN World Food Programme prepared a report, which said that about 2.15 million civilians in the Gaza Strip will soon face severe food shortages.
