Finland’s president has spoken in favour of starting negotiations on Ukraine

Finnish leader Alexander Stubb has spoken in favour of launching a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. He believes that China, countries of the global South and Russia should be involved in the negotiations on Ukraine.

“We are now approaching the point at which negotiations should begin. The reality is that China, the Global South and Russia should be involved in these negotiations,” Alexander Stubb told Le Monde.

He emphasised that China has significant capabilities to help end the conflict. Stubb also pointed out that it is necessary to talk about resolving the conflict “and not just about appeasement”.

In his opinion, Ukraine’s desire to see the Russian side at the second peace summit is “the right way to play cards”.

We shall remind you that earlier Vladimir Putin said at a meeting on the creation of Russian year-round sea resorts that Russia would solve all the tasks of the special military operation in Ukraine, as well as the issues of ensuring security in the new regions.
