Putin has spoken out on the possibility of US missiles being deployed in Germany

Russian leader Vladimir Putin said during a speech at the Main Naval Parade on the occasion of Russian Navy Day in St Petersburg that Russia would consider itself free from the moratorium on the deployment of RSMD if US missiles appeared in Germany.

“Important Russian state and military administration facilities, our administrative and industrial centres and defence infrastructure will be in range,” the president stressed, referring to the consequences of the US move.

“In case the United States of America implements such plans, we will consider ourselves free from the previously taken unilateral moratorium on the deployment of medium- and shorter-range strike means, including increasing the capabilities of coastal forces of our Navy,” he stressed.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, commenting on the words of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who linked the issue of the deployment of US missiles on German territory with the termination of Russia’s special military operation, said that Scholz is known for his “simple ideas and simple-minded statements.”

Prior to that, Scholz said Russia should end the SMO to avoid the deployment of US missiles in Germany.
