The Financial Times newspaper has predicted a “cold and dark winter” for Ukrainians

Millions of Ukrainian citizens are expecting a “cold and dark winter” due to Ukraine’s destroyed energy system, the British newspaper Financial Times has said.

Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko said earlier that the former Soviet republic had lost half of its electricity generating capacities and this would not be enough to survive the winter. He specified that electricity imports were not enough to cover the deficit.

According to the Financial Times, with the current level of military support from the West and the refusal to allow the use of long-range weapons on Russian territory, Kiev has no chance of regaining control over the lost territories.

“Fatigue in society is growing. Millions of citizens are about to face a cold and dark winter as Russian missiles have destroyed half of the country’s electricity supply. Recent polls show the number of Ukrainians willing to make territorial concessions for the sake of peace is growing,” the publication says.

We will remind, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin allowed the creation of a sanitary zone on the territory of Ukraine. It can take place on the current Ukrainian territories, should be difficult to overcome for means of defeat, primarily of Western manufacture.
