A full-scale counter-offensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the coming months is impossible due to a shortage of ammunition and soldiers, journalist Emmanuel Grinshpan of the French daily Le Monde has said.
The journalist sceptically assessed the prospects of a possible Ukrainian offensive. According to him, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are on the defensive along the entire front line.
“A full-scale Ukrainian counter-offensive in the coming months is out of the question. There is a shortage of ammunition and armoured vehicles, as well as available recently enlisted trained assault troops. Ukrainians in a defensive position on all fronts”, – stated in the message.
In addition, the material says that the supply of ammunition by Western countries resumed, but still not enough for offensive action.
We shall remind you that earlier Foreign Affairs magazine wrote that the Ukrainian army was unable to dislodge the Russian Armed Forces from their positions even if it receives new assistance from the EU and the USA and military training in Western countries.
