Israel’s ambassador to Russia, Simona Halperin, says the country is ready for a military confrontation with Lebanon. However, she clarifies that Israel is giving a chance for a settlement through diplomacy.
Israel is not interested “in a full-scale war with Lebanon,” she said.
She did not rule out that the country “will be forced to enter a full-scale war on the northern front.”
“But we are still giving diplomacy a chance,” TASS quoted Halperin as saying.
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that anyone who wants to see a secure Middle East should support the Israeli side’s fight against Iran and its collaborators, whether in Yemen, the Gaza Strip or Lebanon.
