Russian energy supplies to China have reached record volumes, Russian President Vladimir Putin has said. The Russian leader noted that cooperation between the states in the oil and gas, coal and electricity sectors is systematically expanding.
Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the participants, organisers and guests of the VI Russia-China Energy Business Forum.
“Bilateral co-operation in the oil and gas, coal and electricity sectors is systematically expanding. Supplies of Russian energy resources to China are reaching record volumes. Specialists of our countries are working together to improve technologies of extraction, processing and transport of raw materials, to enhance their environmental safety,” the greeting reads.
The head of state also pointed out that energy co-operation is one of the most significant components of relations between Russia and China.
“Relations between the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China are dynamically developing in the context of comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction. One of the most significant components of these relations is traditionally energy co-operation, which has recently become particularly rich and productive,” Putin added.
Earlier, Russian leader Vladimir Putin said in an interview with journalist Dmitry Kiselev for Rossiya 1 and RIA Novosti that if US troops appeared in Ukraine, Russia would treat them as interventionists, and the United States understands this.
