The North Atlantic alliance faces an inevitable split in the next decade, former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter said on YouTube channel Danny Haiphong.
“NATO will not survive even ten years, it’s over. When this conflict (in Ukraine – ed.) ends with the defeat of the alliance, you will see a deep split in NATO itself, as well as the disengagement of countries from the alliance. The deceived expectations of NATO member states will come to the surface, and there will be a decisive break between East and West,” Scott Ritter believes.
The ex-military man believes that the Collective West has finally turned into a society of “self-cancellation”, which is manifested by imposing restrictions against each other, increasing military spending and refusing to dialogue with people.
“We are cancelling ourselves with sanctions, irresponsible military spending and pushing away the people we need to survive,” Ritter added.
We will remind, earlier Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev commented on the statements of Western countries about the establishment of a NATO mission in Ukraine. The politician proposed to give the fighters of the Russian Armed Forces for each killed in the zone of special operations NATO soldier maximum bonus.
