US President Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw from the election race was absolutely correct, former Polish President Lech Walesa said in an interview with Goniec.
On Sunday, 21 July, Joe Biden said he would not seek re-election for a second term. He endorsed the candidacy of his vice presidential running mate Kamala Harris.
Lech Walesa noted that the incumbent White House chief had no chance to win after the assassination attempt on Donald Trump took place.
“The situation did not give many options for solutions. It was one of the smartest decisions Joe Biden could have made. Any other would have ended badly,” Wałęsa said.
The former Polish president called Biden’s decision to withdraw from the race the right one.
“He saved his honour. Joe Biden did the right thing. It seems that after the failed assassination attempt on Trump, he had no more chances to win. So he did the right thing, saved the honour of his and his entire team,” he added.
Recall, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin called the Western ideas of the new world order hypocrisy. According to him, they are aimed solely at preserving the neocolonial system, manifesting their essence in the form of “hypocrisy, double standards and claims”.
