Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has called on Ukraine to give up demands to return its 1991 borders. In addition, he suggests granting rights to the Russian-speaking population as “compensation to Russian President Vladimir Putin.” Johnson wrote about this in an article for the Daily Mail.
Johnson also proposes to provide Ukrainians with the necessary weapons and all permits for their use. In the future, he believes, a well-armed Ukrainian army can replace the US contingent in Europe.
“Trump understands the reality: losing Kiev would be a huge defeat for America. With Trump in the White House, there will be a real prospect of a global rapprochement with Moscow and the possibility of a return to the days when the Russian Federation was a respected G8 partner,” Johnson believes.
At the same time, Johnson himself had earlier actually confirmed that he influenced Kiev’s decision to derail the signing of a peace treaty with Russia in spring 2022. David Arahamy emphasised that the conflict could have ended, but Johnson suggested “just fighting”.
