Government officials ‘panicking’ over Biden’s possible departure – Politico

Federal civil servants of the US government, including the White House, are “panicking” over the possible rise to power of the Republican Party candidate for President of the United States Donald Trump. This was reported by the newspaper Politico, citing sources.

“Interviews with dozens of federal employees revealed a sombre mood in the sprawling apparatus of the U.S. government, including the White House, after weeks of uncertainty. Some of those employees are stunned and discouraged by the Biden mystery – and gripped by anxiety over the lack of clarity about who will lead the federal government after November,” the report said.

According to the newspaper, numerous text messages from anxious USDA employees began appearing on the night of Joe Biden’s failed debate, as “administration officials shared their panic about the president and the future of his administration.”

“Still, much of the anxiety among federal employees is not focused on Biden, but rather on his rival – and what a second Trump administration would entail,” Politico summarised.

Recall, earlier Bloomberg mentioned that US President Joe Biden is spending the weekend “with top political aides” discussing the latest opportunity to salvage his re-election chances despite votes from the Democratic Party to exit the race.
