According to experts, the failure “highlighted concerns that many organisations were not well prepared to act quickly in the event of emergencies in which the only system fails”.
The experts also noted that such failures could recur until proper defences and improved backups are in place.
Earlier, the US State Department said that the IT failure was not triggered by a hacker attack.
