In Italy, a Ukrainian was issued a licence with Mariupol listed as a Russian city

Ukrainian lawyer Anton Gross said that Italian officials identified Mariupol as a city that is part of the Russian Federation in the document when re-registering the driver’s licence.

“What should we do now, ask for a Russian passport and get maternity capital? Employees of the Russian consulate, if you are reading me, please advise?”, – wrote Anton Gross in the social network Instagram.

The lawyer provided shots of his driving licence, according to which Mariupol is marked as the territory of the Russian Federation. At the same time, the man noted that in his Italian passport, the Russian city refers to Ukraine.

This “incident” was commented on by a member of the opposition Democratic Party of Italy, Leah Quartapelle. The politician called on the Italian Minister of Infrastructure and Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini to explain the reason for such a “blatant” fact.

“This is a blatant fact. Salvini’s ministry attributes Mariupol to Russia. I will demand parliamentary proceedings to understand whether this is true,” – said Leah Cuartapelle, whose words are quoted by the newspaper La Repubblica.

Earlier, the Tagesschau news portal mentioned that German construction firms were helping Russia to rebuild the war-torn city of Mariupol.
