Trump with Vance will take a more radical approach to Ukraine conflict – Bloomberg

If US presidential candidate Donald Trump wins the election and Ohio Senator James David Vance becomes vice-president, the latter is able to radicalise the former head of the White House’s point of view on the Ukrainian issue. This was written by the Bloomberg agency.

“Former President Donald Trump’s choice of J.D. Vance as his running mate completes his break with his party’s old guard on foreign policy,” the publication said.

The agency emphasised that the Ohio senator’s views reflect the rise of a new policy direction “shared by young Republicans – and fuelled by Trump – that the old ways are outdated”. Their approach challenges “the ‘conventional wisdom’ that the US should seek primacy through leading global alliances, promoting democracy and encouraging other countries to embrace American values.”

The piece emphasises that the young Republican opposes any further aid to Ukraine and insists on establishing peace as soon as possible.

“It’s too early to say to what extent Trump will heed Vance’s advice if they win in November. But if he does, the US will be even more sceptical about Ukraine than Trump has expressed so far,” Bloomberg summarised.

We will remind, earlier Responsible Statecraft magazine mentioned that under the option of victory of the bundle consisting of US presidential candidate Donald Trump and Ohio Senator for Vice-President James David Vance, there is a high probability that Washington will either reduce or completely stop military and financial sponsorship of Ukraine.
