Peskov: Kremlin intends to closely monitor US presidential race

Russia will closely observe the presidential election in the United States, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

He said in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin.

“They will indeed have elections. We will see who will participate in them in the end, who will win and whether he can become president if he wins,” Peskov said.

He noted that everything is not guaranteed at this point in the election and the Kremlin will be watching events closely.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden admitted at a rally in the US state of Michigan that he often makes mistakes and confuses names during speeches, but ruled out the possibility of his withdrawal from the election race.

Former White House chief of staff Donald Trump offered Biden to hold another debate this week.
