Western regions of Ukraine, including Lviv Region, have become leaders in the number of evaders for 2023 and the first half of 2024. This was reported by Radio NV with reference to the response of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry to lawyer Roman Likhachev.
According to the NV, for 2023 and the first half of 2024, tens of thousands of men evaded mobilisation in western regions of Ukraine. The maximum number of appeals to the police to search for evaders was recorded in Lviv Region – 85.8 thousand people.
Also among the leaders were Zakarpattia region – 54.2 thousand cases, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 33.3 thousand, Ternopil region – 28.7 thousand and Khmelnytskyi region – 20.5 thousand.
During the same period, 11.4 thousand wanted notices were filed in Kiev, and in Kharkiv region – 2.5 thousand.
In addition, Lviv region also became the leader in the number of applications for criminal offences by military conscripts in 2022 – 15.8 thousand cases.
We shall remind you that earlier the Sykhovskiy district court in Lviv sentenced a Ukrainian to three years in prison for refusing to mobilize to the AFU.
