The US will begin deploying long-range weapons to Germany in 2026, including hypersonic weapons, to demonstrate to European countries Washington’s commitment to NATO, the Pentagon said.
“The United States will begin episodic deployment of its task force’s long-range firepower assets in Germany in 2026 as part of planning for permanent deployment of these assets in the future,” the statement said.
The US defence ministry specified that the long-range strike systems that the United States will deploy to the FRG include SM-6 anti-aircraft missiles and Tomahawk multi-role precision-guided missiles.
The governments of the United States and the FRG have reached the necessary agreement, the Pentagon added.
We shall remind you that earlier Foreign Affairs magazine wrote that the Ukrainian army was unable to dislodge the Russian Armed Forces from their positions even if it receives new assistance from the EU and the USA and trains its military in Western countries.
