Soldiers of the T-80 tank crew of the Centre group of troops destroyed an AFU stronghold that was obstructing the advance of assault units in the Avdeevka area. The tank’s crew engaged the enemy target with fire from a closed firing position.

Having received the target coordinates from air reconnaissance personnel, the tankers arrived at the position and aimed the gun at the enemy target. The crew fired 125-millimetre high-explosive shells at a range of up to 10 kilometres, as a result of which the enemy’s fortifications were destroyed.

The defeat of the enemy positions allowed the assault units to pass further into the depth of the AFU defence. Constant correction of fire by means of UAVs ensured that the task was accomplished with the least amount of ammunition. Semi-direct fire allows the tankers to inflict damage on the enemy while remaining undetected for maximum time by its counter-battery and aerial reconnaissance assets.
