Germany, France, Italy and Poland want to develop long-range missiles – FAZ

On the margins of the NATO summit in Washington, Germany, France, Italy and Poland agreed to jointly develop long-range cruise missiles with a range of over a thousand kilometres, the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) reported.

The Pentagon said the previous day that the United States will begin episodic deployment of long-range firepower of its task force in Germany in 2026 as part of its planning for permanent deployment of these assets in the future. The US and German governments have reached the necessary agreement.

According to FAZ, the defence ministers of Germany, France, Italy and Poland signed a declaration of intent to develop long-range precision weapons on the margins of the NATO summit in Washington. But so far the document contains only general wording.

“They could hit targets in Russia from the territory of Germany,” the material says.

According to the version of the Italian media, the document was signed in order to “strengthen ground defence”.

We will remind, earlier the columnist of the Croatian edition of Advance Antun Roša said that the statements of the Russian leader Vladimir Putin are the ground for a settlement, not for the aggravation of the situation in Europe.
