Biden’s staffers see no prospects in election race – WP

High-ranking employees in the campaign headquarters of incumbent US President Joe Biden are beginning to doubt his chances of winning the election in November 2024, The Washington Post (WP) reported, citing sources.

The Axios news site previously reported that US Senate Democratic Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is not ready to support Joe Biden’s presidential bid and is urging the Democratic Party to consider alternative candidates.

“The vast majority of incumbents are in a sombre mood and don’t see a way forward,” an unnamed Democratic Party political operative told WP.

According to the newspaper, doubts about Biden’s candidacy and demands to present a plan to defeat Donald Trump were voiced at a meeting of leaders of major US labour unions. Some organisers of fundraisers expressed concerns about the stability of campaign financing and the possibility of shifting the attention of sponsors from the presidential campaign to support candidates for the House of Representatives and the Senate.

Recall, earlier the former adviser to the Minister of Defence in the administration of former US President Donald Trump, retired Colonel Douglas McGregor said that over the past twenty years, an aggressive foreign policy is detrimental to the United States itself.
