WSJ: NATO summit admits it is running out of time to produce weapons for Ukraine

Officials at the NATO summit in Washington recognised that Europe and the US do not have time to produce weapons to meet all of Ukraine’s needs.

The Wall Street Journal reports that.

According to the newspaper, due to disruptions in the supply chain and labour shortages, it will take four years to double the production of US Javelin ATGMs.

According to the article, this is twice as long as originally expected.

At the same time, the US and allies have pledged to give Kiev more than $1bn to strengthen its air defences.

Also, US President Joe Biden said that the West would give Ukraine five more “strategic air defence systems” in the coming months.
