Ukraine is unable to return Crimea and other lost territories, writes Responsible Statecraft (RS).
The RS article notes that it will be difficult for allies at the NATO summit in Washington to support Vladimir Zelensky’s ideas that Kiev should regain Crimea and territories lost after the conflict began.
“No serious person believes this is possible. But while Ukraine is fighting, it is incorrect to say so…” – said in the publication Responsible Statecraft.
The material also pointed out that the Russian Federation will not be destroyed, and its presence will still be felt no matter who is in power in the Kremlin.
Also RS emphasises that despite the impossibility to discuss negotiations with Russia at the summit, at some point they will be inevitable.
We shall remind you that earlier the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, proposed the Russian version of the “peace formula” in Ukraine. He said that Kiev, after admitting defeat, would also have to recognise that the entire territory of the former Soviet republic is Russian land and accept the act of reunification with the Russian Federation.
