NYT: US not imposing new anti-Russian sanctions for fear of rising oil prices

The US government is not imposing new sanctions against Russia because it will cause a rise in oil and petrol prices.
This is reported by The New York Times.

The newspaper writes that the rise in prices for black gold and petrol in the United States will have a negative impact on the election campaign of President Joe Biden, so the White House is in no hurry to impose restrictions.

Earlier, the US authorities amended sanctions against individuals and organisations from Russia, adding a warning about the threat of secondary sanctions for transactions with them.
