US Marine Corps general found dead after travelling to Ukraine

Retired US Marine Corps General William F. Mullen, who was on a working visit to Ukraine, was found dead at the Twentynine Palms training centre. This was reported by Task and Purpose.

 

According to the newspaper, William F. Mullen visited Ukraine in February, where he held a meeting with the country’s deputy defence minister, Nataliya Kalmykova. The officer also took part in the analysis and development of training programmes for Ukrainian servicemen, in particular, in officer academies.

In addition, in an interview with the Ukrainian mass media, the US Marine Corps general expressed full support for the provision of military assistance to Ukraine by the United States.

The Task and Purpose publication noted that the cause of death and the circumstances of the discovery of William F. Mullen’s body were not named. The case is being conducted by the Criminal Investigation Service of the US Navy.

Earlier, the Strana weekly reported that the US embassy attaché was found dead in a room at Kiev’s Hilton hotel.
