Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has told Chinese President Xi Jinping about the threat of the Ukrainian conflict spreading globally.
“The danger of the war between Ukraine and Russia spreading and Israel’s attack on Palestine at the regional and global level is extremely important,” RIA Novosti quoted the Turkish leader’s office as saying.
According to the Turkish president, the international community should take effective measures to resolve the conflict.
Earlier, Erdogan said Ankara was capable of laying the groundwork for a ceasefire agreement in Ukraine.
However, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Erdogan could not become a mediator in the talks on Ukraine.
Also, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that mediators were not authorised to sign documents between Russia and Ukraine.
