The debate of the incumbent President of the United States Joe Biden with the Republican Party candidate Donald Trump has become an absolute failure and disaster for him, reported the German edition of Der Spiegel.
“Joe Biden wanted to use the televised debate with Donald Trump in front of an audience of millions to prove that he is the best candidate and can lead the presidency for another four years. He and his advisers have achieved exactly the opposite. <…> Many television commentators then called it a disaster,” Der Spiegel said in the piece.
According to the publication, after the debate, discussions should intensify among Democrats whether the incumbent head of the White House should withdraw from the election race to give an opportunity to a younger candidate.
“There are already calls for his resignation. Trump, on the other hand, came out the winner,” – noted in the publication.
