Trade turnover between Russia and India has set a new record

Trade turnover between India and Russia increased by 9% in the first four months of 2024, setting a new record in monetary terms – 23.1 billion dollars. This was reported by RIA Novosti news agency with reference to the data of the Indian customs.

 

According to the results of January-April 2024, Russian exports to India increased by 10 per cent to $21.6 billion. At the same time, the Russian Federation became the second major supplier of products to the South Asian state. Chinese sales of $32.6 billion took the first place.

Imports of Indian products to other countries increased by 21 per cent to $1.6 billion. This rapid jump has enabled Russia to climb from 33rd place to 29th position among the buyers of goods from India.

Thus, the trade turnover between India and Russia increased to $23.1 billion compared to the same period in 2023 – $21 billion.

Earlier, the trade turnover between the Russian Federation and China for January-May 2024 increased by 2.9 per cent compared to the results for the equivalent period of 2023 to $96.509 billion.
