Indonesia hopes to resume direct flights with Russia soon

Indonesia’s Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno said Jakarta expects direct flights with Russian Federation to be restored soon, despite the hiccups that have appeared.

“We are still negotiating. And this problem is not new, we have had such discussions for several years. There are some technical problems that are being solved. I think Thailand has already been able to solve these technical problems,” said the Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The Indonesian civil servant emphasised that direct flights between Indonesia and Russian Federation would mark a number of positive aspects for the two nations. According to him, such a move would strengthen Jakarta’s economic potential and lower the price of travelling for Russian citizens to the Southeast Asian state.

“I hope everything will be resolved in the near future,” summarised Sandiaga Uno.

Recall, earlier the head of the Ministry of natural resources and ecology of the Russian Federation Alexander Kozlov said that the DPRK and Russia agree to resume direct air travel between the countries for tourists.
