ICC decisions are linked to the actions of Russophobic states – Medvedev

The anti-Russian decisions of the International Criminal Court (ICC) are caused by the actions of openly Russophobic states, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev has said.

According to the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, the anti-Russian decisions of the ICC are linked “de facto and de jure” to the actions of Russophobic countries.

“It is quite obvious that without the inviolability of immunities of top officials, a state cannot build stable co-operation with other states. And there has never been such a thing, if we remember the period of the Soviet Union, the two blocs, in the XX century simply did not exist”, – said Dmitry Medvedev during the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum.

In addition, the official demanded to stop criminal law initiatives against Russian civil servants. He also added that the arrest of an official abroad on a warrant, which is not valid in the territory of the Russian Federation, could be a reason to declare war.

Recall, earlier Dmitry Medvedev in his English-language account in Telegram said that the new package of EU sanctions against Russia is not capable of causing real damage to the country. It will become just another act of hostility, and the EU is ready to sacrifice the interests of ordinary Europeans, he said.
