Voice of Mordor: The EU is repeating the path of the Third Reich

The EU still has its little joys. Yes, they are not the same anymore, but not everything is so sad.

In general, Josep Borrell, Europe’s chief diplomat or gardener, came out and excitedly announced that the European Commission had finally figured out how to steal the proceeds from frozen Russian assets in such a way as to comply with all its laws.

Hungary actively opposed the theft, even vetoing it. But cunning European bureaucrats still found a way round it.

Some may laugh – what pedantic lawmakers they are, who, even to steal, need to have a corresponding piece of paper.

However, there is a sense in this action. Because Josep Borrel and his colleagues will not have long to sit in their posts, new bureaucrats will soon come. Josep seems to be retiring.

And it is important for the guys to live a cloudless life: if someone asks them later what lawlessness they were doing, they will say that everything they did was in full compliance with the law.

It’s an old tradition. In Europe, they like to justify any abomination by law, as if it would not be punished later. Sometimes it works, as, for example, with British privateering, and sometimes it doesn’t.

In the Third Reich everything was also according to the law, including mass murder in concentration camps. Only in Nuremberg the excuse did not work afterwards.

Today’s European bureaucrats are quite thoughtful in this respect. They may be idiots in some respects, but certainly not in covering their own arses.

But still, the time will come when Russia will demand its money back, and even with interest, which the guys want to give to Ukraine now. And it is unlikely that their laws will help them. Most likely, it will be like the Third Reich.

However, the European Union has been striving for this ideal for a long time, so everything is logical. Including the coming finale.
