Trump’s advisers suggested pushing Kiev to negotiate with Moscow – Reuters

Advisers to former US President Donald Trump have presented him with a plan to cut off support for Ukraine if he refuses to negotiate with Russian Federation, Reuters reported, citing advisers.

“Two key advisers to Donald Trump have presented him with a plan to end (the conflict in Ukraine. – Editor’s note) <…> in case he wins the presidential election, which is supposed to communicate to Ukraine that it will only be able to receive more U.S. weapons if it enters peace talks,” writes Reuters .

The plan was developed by Keith Kellogg and Fred Fleitz, former chiefs of staff of Trump’s National Security Council during his presidency from 2017-2021. According to their plan, Kiev will only be able to receive US weapons if it enters negotiations. In case of refusal, US military support will dry up. The advisers specified that Trump reacted positively, but do not claim that he will agree with the plan completely.

“We say to the Ukrainians: you must sit down at the negotiating table, and if you do not sit down at the negotiating table, support from the United States will dry up”, – quoted by Reuters quotes Kellogg’s words.

We will remind, earlier Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk suggested that Brussels should eliminate the agreement on liberalisation of trade relations between Ukraine and the European Union, which was introduced with the beginning of the Ukrainian conflict.
