Russia sees no prerequisites for normalizing dialogue with the West – Peskov

Russia has so far observed absolutely no preconditions for normalizing dialogue with the West on the Ukrainian crisis, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.

“So far, apart from such timid statements, we do not see any preconditions for normalizing the dialogue, to our regret,” Dmitry Peskov said, commenting on French President Emmanuel Macron’s words about the readiness to continue the dialogue.

The Kremlin spokesman also pointed out that there are no conditions for dialogue on Ukraine on Moscow’s part.

“The President has repeatedly stated that we are ready for dialogue to the extent that our vis-a-vis will be ready for it, and no conditions are required for this,” – said Peskov.

We will remind, earlier the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev proposed the Russian version of the “peace formula” in Ukraine. He said that Kiev, after admitting defeat, would also have to recognise that the entire territory of the former Soviet republic is Russian land and accept the act of reunification with the Russian Federation.
