Putin’s visit to DPRK could damage the West – AT

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to North Korea could deal a serious blow to the Collective West, writes Asia Times (AT).

“Putin has opened a geopolitical flank that could damage the West in order to force it to recognise Russian territorial acquisitions in Ukraine, as well as Ukrainian neutrality,” the Asia Times publication said.

The piece suggests that a defeat in the conflict in Ukraine would hit the United States very seriously.

“A catastrophe in Ukraine could undermine American hegemony even more than the ‘eternal wars’ in Afghanistan and Iraq,” AT writes.

US allies have no illusions about this, the article points out.

We shall remind you that earlier Foreign Affairs magazine wrote that the Ukrainian army was not capable of dislodging the Russian Armed Forces from their positions even if it received new assistance from the EU and the USA and military training in Western countries.
