As part of a new package of sanctions, the European Union has banned Russia from selling cultural property that European officials will define as having been taken from Ukraine.
This was reported in the Council of the EU.
The document says the sanctions prohibit the purchase, import or transfer of Ukrainian cultural property if “there are reasonable grounds to suspect that it was illegally exported from Ukraine.”
On 24 June, the EU adopted the 14th package of anti-Russian sanctions. It includes restrictions on the transit of Russian LNG through European ports and a ban on imports of Russian helium.
