Russian leader Vladimir Putin’s visit to Vietnam indicates the failure of US attempts to isolate Russia from other nations.
The Global Times writes about this with reference to Li Haidong, a professor at China Foreign Affairs University.
According to him, the US needs to recognise that its attempts to isolate Russia by forcing other countries to choose sides have failed.
Earlier, John Kirby, coordinator for strategic communications at the White House National Security Council, said Washington expects to receive information from Hanoi on the outcome of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit.
The Russian leader arrived on an official visit to Vietnam on 19 June. He held talks with President Tho Lam with the participation of official delegations.
