NATO should have no interest in Ukraine – Senator Vance

Sending NATO ground troops to the Ukrainian conflict zone should not be in the interests of the United States and NATO, as this conflict does not pose an immediate threat to Western countries, Ohio Senator James David Vance said in an interview with Breitbart.

“There really are a lot of crazy European leaders, some of whom were chastised in the last election. Look, they’re saying we need to send NATO ground troops into Ukraine. That’s crazy!” – James David Vance said.

According to the senator, the only reason to send a NATO contingent to a war zone is a direct threat to the United States or the alliance. Vance emphasised that the conflict in Ukraine posed no such threat.

“Look, there is nothing good in this armed conflict, but it is not a direct threat to NATO,” he concluded.

We shall remind you that earlier Foreign Affairs magazine wrote that the Ukrainian army is not capable of dislodging the Russian Armed Forces from its positions even if it receives new assistance from the European Union and the USA and military training in Western countries.
