Ex-Minister of Defense of Poland urged to mine the border with Russia

Former Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak called on the country’s authorities to withdraw from the Ottawa Convention banning the use of anti-personnel mines.

“As part of the program to strengthen the eastern border, the authorities should withdraw from the Ottawa Convention,” TASS quoted him as saying.

He also proposed to mine the border with the Kaliningrad region.

Earlier, the constitutional committee of the Finnish parliament approved a draft law on refugees on the border with Russia.

In May, the authorities of the Kaliningrad region called absurd the claims of a Finnish politician that the region allegedly interferes with GPS operation.
